The Role
I felt I learnt as much as I could have in my years placement and more. It was a great experience and has set me up for my final year at university.
I felt like I was a valued member of my team with a lot of people forgetting or not knowing that I was a placement student!
My Manager was great, she let me get on with things with not much direction which really pushed me. She Gave me a lot of opportunities when assisting her which i know many of my other friends didn't get, however I didn't get much feedback from her (good and bad, which i would have liked)
I was never bored working at ASOS! You are always busy - sometime too busy, however this is great experience to manage your time.
I was given a lot of responsibility getting on with daily tasks in the office why my buyer was on trips, however I enjoyed this responsibility.
The Skills I learnt are definitely skills for life, work and studies!
The Company
There was a good balance between work and play.
The placement was really organised at the beginning and at the end of the year, however we didn't really have much organisation in the middle of our placement - left to our own devices.
We had a certain degree of training and development targeted at Interns but again this was at the beginning and the end of the year. Training sessions were put on for ASOS staff which we attended, however sessions and development just for interns would be great as many of the sessions with ASOS full time staff were quite developed. It was good for us to be apart of these development/training sessions, but maybe more targeted towards interns starting out in the industry as well.
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
I think a better focus on future employment prospects within the company would be great as we were all left with the view of a possibility of returning and it was very vague.
The Culture
There wasn't a developed social scene between the fellow placements which would have been great to help us settle in.
Typical London prices
I didn't really venture out in Camden
There were a few good social events and Friday beers which were a great way to get to know people and fit in, however not many activities as such
