  • I felt very at home, the ice breaker session at the begin made everyone feel more at ease and certainly 'broke the ice'. It far exceeded my expectations.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Throughout the day, there was always a mentor on hand to help you with anything you needed. All the staff within were extremely friendly and genuinely wanted to help you. There was a lot of fun as well as business, as the mentor's were once in our shoes and know how it feels.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As it was only a day it is hard to say that it will assist me beyond my degree, however in terms of maximum learning and understanding, the EY insight day packs a punch and you certainly take a lot away from it. It really gets you excited for what you can achieve if your willing to work for it!

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Very much so, it really shows that EY is all about its people. All the staff members, whether it be in Glasgow or London are all so genuine and hard working, you can really see the diversity within each department which makes for great teamwork!

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I think it will certainly have an influence and will make me think what I really want out of a career. As it was only a day I think you would have to partake in an internship to fully understand what it would be like to work in a specific department and that could maybe sculpt your future degree more.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was reimbursed for everything! It was very efficient where I exchanged emails with an EY employee and it was all very simple and effortless. EY were very obliging to be willing to want to help me and the costs I incurred.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • At lunch and throughout the day. I really felt that the networking oppurtunities allowed a good time slot to ensure participants could find out all they wished to about the staff at EY and what their day to day activities were.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • At lunch it was very casual and it was just easy to chat to employees and interns. It allowed you to exchange details and find out far more information from a more personal level. Very hand tips and advice for the application process.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • I found out EY like their staff to do a lot outside of work and be busy. There is great oppurtunities for EY staff to get involved in the commonwealth games in 2014 for example, volunteer and participate which is absolutely brilliant.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Absolutely, was very worthwhile! The insight day, is what it is says, an insight. It encourages you to work hard and to maybe think about applying for an internship at EY and look into the oppurtunities it can offer you.
