    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I had the best year working for Warner Bros. The role was both challenging and exciting and I have met some great people and fellow interns. The job was a perfect platform to set me up for my final year at university... and it looks great on the CV!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • From day one you are given a high level of responsibility for completing tasks which makes you feel valued by your fellow team members and gives you a sense of achievement.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I found my manager had a lot of time for me. He helped to build and develop my skills and apply them to the tasks I had been given.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The nature of the industry means you're always going to have work to crack on with. You need to manage your own personal workload and ask for help when needed. My manager always made sure my work load matched what I could successfully deliver.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given an appropriate amount of responsibility for an intern. I had a lot of work to do but the work was suited to my level of understanding but was always challenging.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • During my time at WB I learnt a range of skills relating to both my department and the industry. I developed skills which I have found useful for final year such as prioritising work loads and managing my time effectively.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office was fun and relaxed but got a bit more serious towards month-end when a lot of finance-related deadlines had to be met.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I think I was the sixth or seventh finance intern at WB so the department was well-organised and adapted to having an intern within their team.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • WB ran an intern-specific range of training and development courses throughout the year including 'Delivering effective presentations' and 'Time management'. I couldn't recommend these more as a lot of them were tailored to your own personal job roles.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Healthcare from home

    Healthcare/Dental

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Unfortunately WB do not run a graduate scheme, however many former interns returned to the company soon after graduation.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were around 30 interns altogether and about half of them relocated to London specifically for the internship. There were some great nights out! The social scene was a highlight of the year for me.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Central London so hardly cheap as chips but you're on a decent wage so enough money for drinks after work.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Plenty of different places to go from student nights out to posh clubs and bar in and around Central London.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I played a few games for the football team. A good way to meet people outside your department and to relax from work!

    4/5
