    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Everyone was very friendly and very supportive and a lot of the time I was given work that was quite interesting and vital for the project I was on.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • A lot of the time, the work I did was only quickly reviewed before it was used in meetings so my work saved the team a job, which is always appreciated. As the work is technical, it is inevitable that you need to ask questions but people expect this from you and even encourage it!

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Each intern has a counsellor and buddy who you see often and help with day to day activities and career planning. What I would say is always raise any concerns or possible changes as soon as possible to allow for them to find out what needs to be done.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I always had work to do but I was not so overloaded that I could not concentrate on each piece and fulfil it to the best of my abilities.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Especially in the office abroad, I was given a lot of responsibility and in both locations I got to meet with clients.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I am doing a completely unrelated degree but I have improved my organisation skills and also my communication skills.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very relaxed, especially during the Olympics and Paralympics. Everyone is aware of the interns and does their best to help you out and offer their time and experiences.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Absolutely outstanding job! Ran very smoothly especially between the two countries.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Completed many online courses and got to speak with a lot of partners and directors.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Everyone is driven and like-minded so we had a lot of fun.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London so expensive but I lived at home. All costs were covered when I was abroad, including an allowance for food, transport and entertainment.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • London is greta for nightlife but it does come at a cost!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were many things available but it was difficult to get stuck in as we weren't around for very long.
