    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • As it was a local office, a lot of the time it felt like they didn't have work to give, or simply gave photocopying and filing jobs (part of the internship process I guess). However, the work being done my people who were permanent looked very interesting.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Very friendly, but simply didn't have much work for me at some points.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Answered whatever I asked about.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Varied day to day.

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The highlight would be when I was given the opportunity to talk to the client directly, but those opportunities were few and far between.

    2/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Not helpful for degree, but definitely a good insight into the financial world.

    1/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Busy and lively. Very friendly.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Days where there wasn't much to do, should be prepared to give interns work. Also, I never got a partner shadow day.

    2/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Feedback is available, but depends on who you're working for. Some people are too busy to give feedback quickly.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

  • Went out on department socials, and also went out with other interns.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Not as expensive as London!

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Lots of options, from bars to clubs.

    4/5
