The Role
Varied day-to-day, but generally enjoyable. Found it a struggle on days when couldn't progress much with project.
Very friendly people to work with, welcomed into the culture very well.
Very good structure - mentor, supervisor and manager to turn to for support.
Found due to nature of project based work that some days were slow and some jam-packed
Running own project on new equipment so entirely my responsibility
Invaluable experience that will help me in all my future jobs and in obtaining them
The Company
Due to pressures of a production environment was often tense but everyone friendly and helpful still.
Well organised and practised on many previous years. Welcome and induction to the company useful, feedback throughout and presentations at end well managed.
Great investment - got to visit a plant abroad in Europe which helped with my project and allowed me to see what happened in other plants.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
International Travel
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I was fortunate to be offered a job when i graduate.
The Culture
Unfortunately I was the only placement student at the time for business reasons so not really applicable.
Manchester is a cheap place to stay and live.
Again..Manchester offers everything!
Yes - organising socials but as there weren't any other students at the time less than there would be normally.
