Overview
Helping to oversee two research projects. One was a clinical intervention with the NHS Royal Berkshire hospital which involved a 12 week movement intervention of either physiotherapy, partnered or unpartnered tango dance with older adults (65+) that recently experienced a fall. The other was research that examines the link between children’s movement timing and reading abilities.
Skills
How to email in a more professional manner, how to use software such as MatLab. I have improved my Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
Responsibilities
Yes towards the end I was given responsibility of a whole 12 week intervention.
Support & Guidance
There was a fair bit, but sometimes I was just left to work it out myself.
Culture
There was basically no atmosphere. As a placement student the rest of the staff still seemed to just see me as a student, so parts of it were quite lonely.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed parts of it such as the interaction with the participants but didn't really enjoy writing up the research.

Be open with your supervisor and tell them when you are struggling with workload.
