  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Attending meetings with my manager and my team members. Working on individual projects ranging from technical to non-technical, but they all require collaboration with different teams. Creating presentations, documents, project plans.

  • Resilience: I had to learn to always critique my work and no work fulfils everything necessary. To be open to feedback and improving work constantly. Experience with coding software used in Expedia Group, Powerpoint, Excel and Word.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given real life projects only: no mock projects were given at all. The responsibility was of employee satisfaction, employee efficiency and usability of products.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I have a manager who assigns me the work and makes sure I have everything I need to implement it. I was partnered up with another intern on some of the projects so there was good collaboration. I had a peer in the team to get me up to speed on the technical parts of assignments. I had a mentor from a completely different branch of Expedia for external guidance and support.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Very welcoming and supportive. They were always stating that they are there to help and I could ask them for any help if I needed to, despite their busy schedules. They were supporting and great with critiquing my work.
