  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Working within a team of audit professionals on client engagements to prepare for and deliver audits to large client firms. Day-to-day sitting in on team meetings, undertaking admin tasks and basic audit tasks, being mentored by graduate employees.

  • Developed my Excel skills, gained an understanding of the audit process, learnt more about how to interact in a corporate environment and talk to clients and seniors.

  • Yes, given tasks to undertake on my own to help the audit team complete the audit.

  • Interns were allocated buddies and counsellors to help settle in and monitor progress, and within the project work I was mentored by a graduate.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Positive, I felt valued and safe despite being one of many in a large corporate setting. Culture is very people-focused.

  • I much enjoyed getting a feel for the corporate atmosphere and a first insight into the world of work, and enjoyed meeting new people. The audit work itself did not particularly interest me.
