    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • No day will be the same, this is what I love about the role: the fact that it is never repetitive. I get to work on different projects and develop different skills. I usually send out weekly reports and monthly reports, along with monthly admin tasks.

  • I had the chance to develop my communication, analytical and application skills the most. Even thought I thought I was good as some of these skills I can still see that I have come a long way since the day I stepped into L'Oréal.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I never had a day where there was nothing I needed to work on. I was always kept busy and given a lot of responsibility. Tasks that I did not think were on my level were still entrusted with me, this definitely helped me further my skills and make the most of my experience.

  • The team was very supportive, they were always open to helping me out and putting in some time to help me do a task/ review my tasks. Even though I was trusted with a lot of work, I was given a lot of support to ensure I get the best result

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture varies based on the divisions. The division I was in was very social, there were a lot of opportunities to network and it facilitated a fostering environment. There is a lot of importance placed on mental health and time for yourself. We always celebrated wins and took the feedback to develop as well, it's an environment that helps you be your best self.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I enjoyed my placement a lot. Even though there were times were I was drowning in work and had a lot of pressure on me, we knew when to take time back. My team is very social and is always up for a chat. The intern community is especially so big that networking and social opportunities are immense
