  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Accounts Payables - Chasing the business to help resolve invoice issues and ensure POT (payment on time) is met. -Assist Payments Team based in Chennai -Raise Emergency payments • •Financial Reporting - Support month end closing tasks including reviewing trial balance, intercompany reconciliations and completing FX revaluation •Treasury -Support with registering bank mandates - Raise purchase orders for monthly and quarterly subscription fees

  • Improved IT skills and proficiency with Excel as well as other software systems such as SAP and DCIW Improved written communication skills Built on teamwork and leadership skills through undergraduate project Improved data analysis and attention to detail Put into practice accounting knowledge needed to analyse balance sheets and trial balances

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was expected to support with a lot of tasks that were important for month end reporting. Deep dive into queries and issues raised by suppliers or SSC regarding invoices and vendor creation as these needed to be cleared to process payments Raise PO's in order to pay invoices

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • My managers and team members have been very supportive throughout my placement. I was comfortable asking them any questions that I had and was satisfied with the help and responses I have received each time. My training sessions in the beginning were very informative and I was able to understand the tasks quickly. I was also provided with detailed desktop procedure notes and they have been very useful throughout the year.
