    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • - Communicating with employees including the creation of formal letter correspondence. - Key role in the coordination of the company wide Undergraduate Recruitment Process including reviewing CV/cover letters, organising and assisting with interviews and Assessment Centre. - Preparation of monthly payroll reports - Maintenance of HR systems - Handling confidential data and reports - Providing general support for ongoing HR initiatives.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I had continuous support throughout my placement year from my manager and other colleagues; starting with a 2 week handover period, regular 1-1s with my line manager and smaller team meetings. It was a very supportive environment which allowed me to thrive.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture centres around respect and the power of dreams, everyone was encouraged to question why things were done in a particular way and propose changes. The general atmosphere was continually friendly and positive.

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement year, I have learnt that I like working in the HR area and will look to pursue this after graduation. I have learnt invaluable skills which I will take forward in my final academic year and future career. Honda has set the bar high for future companies I will look to apply to.
