    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Throughout the week i have 4 reports which i have to produce as well as smaller individual tasks. I collect clean and analyse data using a specific software to gain insights and produce weekly reports about the games side of the business. I produce a weekly stock report, a forecast report, as well as a competitor market report and a report for our own titles. I also complete day to day small analytical breakdown tasks.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have developed and gained new skills. One of the newer skills i've had to learn is working under high pressure and a small time frame which has taught me to be efficient with my work. Problem solving is also a key part of my job and so i have further developed my cognitive and analytical thinking in order to be able to effectively solve problems and fix software issues.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes i was given a lot of responsibility. Being an international analyst, any big report i produce each week is emailed and presented to over 100 people internationally. It's essential to make sure everything is correct and updated frequently to let territories know how their games are performing and whether to produce more or less etc. Having also completed big 6 week projects this has been a lot of responsibility, however very rewarding.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • The initial 5 week handover period from my previous intern was excellent and very in depth, a lot of it has been more independent learning through problem solving an just getting a better understanding for the job. Have also been given learning rooms and specific courses within my department to help better understand the software i use for my job. Once every 2 weeks in the office we have a specific day to run through any problems that i have with the software which is very useful.

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I've loved it. It has been very challenging and difficult but the new experience is something i'll take with me and always look back on as a fun memory. • Yes

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Warner Bros. Discovery
  • Application process is tough but just enjoy it. Get used to interviews so that you find yourself comfortable speaking and presenting, and just be honest and try your hardest. When recruiting for the next intern its important that they think you are qualified to do the job, however it is more important in my opinion that you try to build a good relationship with the interviewers, as they will also want to work with someone more than they get on with.
