    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • The day was divided where most days in the morning we began with a series of talks and conversations with various employees at EY we then spent the afternoon working with a group of students on a case study that was presented to us. We then had to present our findings nearer the end of the 2 weeks to a panel of mentors.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have developed my presentation as well as networking skills. Being pushed into an environment where we were constantly speaking with high net worth professionals, I had to consistently ask questions to gain as much insight into the profession. We spoke with mentors who also taught us etiquette of speaking to clients in client meetings.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to EY
  • I would advise applicants to be themselves. Everyone is super supportive of each other and the firm is very people centric in that everyone is welcome and encouraged to be exactly who they are. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Practice psychometric tests a lot that's the only way you'll be able to get through the initial stages.
