    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Aiding in activations for WB Games in the UK for both new release and catalogue games. Helping to create assets for digital and outdoor marketing campaigns. Taking meeting minutes from international meetings. Presenting to external agencies about WB games and creating relationships to work with in the future. Help develop the social activity through our social channels and offer new ideas into the fold. Keep up to date with current gaming news.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Communication with others is such a key part of the role that my skills in this case have increased tenfold. Confidence when presenting has also come to me quite easily through the amount of presentations that we deliver. Being able to work as part of such a large team can take some getting used to, and getting your voice heard is so important.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given the same responsibility as any 'normal' employee at Warner Bros. The intern scheme that is set up here makes it so easy for us to fit in. We are such an important part of the workforce that we take on important tasks daily, and are given responsibility and confidence that we can produce some really good work.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • The managers and current staff at Warner Bros are so forgiving. Everyone is so used to Interns being part of the team that every year they seem to take on everyone and nurture their growth during the year. Being equally forgiving but firm makes for perfect mentoring. You aren't treated as a young adult in the team, you are treated as equal to everyone else.

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from the wider team?

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • My experience for the year has been all online due to Covid so will be hard for me to answer this question in full. However, that doesn't mean I haven't been welcomed into the team with open arms. Everyone gives me as much of their time as possible. Such positive attitudes all round. No complaints whatsoever.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I cannot express how thankful I am for this opportunity. Being involved in such a prestigious company even for a year has been such an experience. I made some good friends in the other interns that were hired this year, almost like first year at university again. Needless to say a few freebies here and there.

  • 7. Would you recommend Warner Bros. Discovery to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Warner Bros. Discovery
  • Be yourself. Don't go into this internship expecting a very formal workplace. Of course there is a time and place for formality, but day to day business with your team is informal enough that you form such a friendly bond with your team. Go for drinks, arrange catch ups with other departments. Make the most of the time you are there as it will go so fast.
