    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I found the program extremely insightful, there was a wealth of information provided by a range of employees at the firm. The insight had a particular focus on EY's D&I journey and allowed me to understand the firm's commitment to diversifying its workforce in order to benefit from a range of creative minds and different perspectives.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Due to the unprecedented conditions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the physical insight program had been replaced by a virtual alternative. This in itself shows the high level of effort that the team at EY is willing to put in to ensure we are receiving the information we had applied for. I felt extremely valued due to this.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The whole insight program revolved around the essence of the support systems available at EY. The panel members and the recruitment team had offered their advice and guidance throughout the entirety of the program. I had a situation that prevented me from attending the program at the start and was immediately contacted by the team to ensure I was able to access the program.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The information I received is invaluable, I feel that I have been put in a comfortable position against other future internship candidates by having a deeper understanding of what EY is looking for in their candidates. I will definitely use this information in my application process in the future, not only at EY but throughout my career journey.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was very well structured. Event timings were set out and kept to. The panel teams were ready to present and answer questions at the set timings. This shows that there is a strong structure and sense of organisation at EY. Kudos to the team that organised this event!

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Due to this insight being virtual it made it more difficult to get a sense of the general atmosphere, however, on my side I was thoroughly engaged throughout. There were interactive sections led by the sponsorship and mentoring team which I found to be more exciting. This helped keep everyone active and interested

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 3/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • As we were able to hear from many different employees at the firm, it was very easy to gage from the collective what the work-life at EY was like. There was a strong focus on collaboration and team spirit - which is strengthened by the firms flatter structure. This allows junior employees to network and learn from the more senior members at the firm.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight helped me gain a much fuller understanding of the firms commitments and culture. There is a strong drive towards increasing diversity in the workplace and a great culture of giving. This is supported by the large number of networks put in place at the firm that focuses on the corporate social responsibility of EY.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The Discover EY program allowed me to understand how I can follow up on the event to start a career at EY. The content provided at the insight allows for an easier transition into a full-time position/internship at EY, which other candidates who had not attended the event would not be able to benefit from.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • There was a specific section of the insight program that related to the networks that were available for the employees to join. These activities ranged from religious groups to social movement groups that encourage EY employees to work together and achieve the goals that they strive for as a team.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would definitely recommend this insight to a friend. I was able to learn so much in such little time, the event was condensed from a couple of days into a single day live event with a wealth of information and advice. This insight also allowed for the opportunity to be fast-tracked into the firms summer and graduate roles, which easies off a lot of the pressure of job searching in the second year of university.
