The Role
Dream job - the type of company that if you work hard and demand the best, you get the most out of the experience !
The internship structure is one week of introduction, 8 weeks to work on a project, the final week to present and handover. This means you are in charge of your own project and when you interact with your team/manager they listen and value your efforts and perspective . In the end, you may know more about the project than your own colleagues (even if you’re “just an intern”) !!
Due to the structure of “owning” your assigned project , you are given constant support and guidance on how to go about these things. I personally had a great experience however the guidance given varies if your manager is out on holiday for a couple days or has lots of deadlines.
There was always more to do! In terms of content and structure my project was done relatively early in the internship but this just meant I kept working until the last day to get it perfect. The company culture means you strive for quality so always have something to work on and always explore different ways of finding a solution.
My project was a big responsibility. I was in charge of a small and neglected part of our Beanz portfolio which few people even knew existed! This meant not only did I need to plan the future of the category but also had to understand the historical initiatives.
Kraft Heinz has an “Ownerversity” where you are always learning.
The Company
Hard working, stimulating, energetic. Quite casual but everyone is prepared for their roles.
Really great organisation (Thank you Stephanie!!). My only concern is that you sign a contract accepting the offer BEFORE you are assigned a role - which means some were stuck in functions they did not like or some had last minute switches after making it clear what skill sets they wanted to develop in the 10 weeks.
A full first week of inductions with the U.K. leadership team and throughout the internship I was taught to use software such as Nielsen, Kantar and some Excel skills/training. For personal business interactions also great.
Working from home
After the 10 week internship if you would like to continue in the company they explain (and sell very well) their EMEA TRAINEE PROGRAMME - a 16 week grad scheme.
The Culture
Once a month or so the entire office would go for drinks on a Friday - very nice! We were only 15 interns so we got quite close, once or twice a week we would go out and every lunch we’d catch up !
LONDON PRICES. you are based in the shard, london bridge area. Bring your own lunch (there are microwaves in the canteen!!) also drinks are £5 / pint on average !!
It’s London :)
Up to you not the job- again, it’s London so there’s always something.
