    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • We were given a 10-week project which seemed to perfectly matched to our interests. My project was within revenue management and had behavioural economic implications which fascinates me. I loved the atmosphere in the office- I saw all of my colleagues as friends and everyone appeared proud to be part of the Kraft Heinz family.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Extremely valued- I forgot I was an intern. There was a friends & family day where we all invited our family to visit the shard office and had drinks/food etc. We were valued as interns and always treated as if we worked there full-time. I even travelled to Amsterdam for a few days to attend their global revenue management offsite where they paid for my accommodation, flights etc. The opportunities and experiences I had as an internship were unbelievable.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My two managers were amazing and always happy to help me. We bounced ideas well off each other and all excited to be working on my project. I sat next to them and we had a lot of catch-up meetings about my project. We often went out for lunch together, had a laugh and I became really good friends with them.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It seemed to depend on the project we were given but I was very busy and always had something to do. The employees all seemed extremely busy with many deadlines and responsibilities. The content of the work was really interesting so the days passed quickly. A working day was normally 8am-6/7pm but this varied as some days I had less meetings/ deadlines to meet than others.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • For the 10 weeks, we were given our own project to complete and it was completely down to us how we wanted to go about it. We then presented this project in the final week. We had as much responsibility as an employee and this is what made the whole experience so memorable.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt that if you work hard in life, you'll be rewarded and your achievements are down to yourself. I also realised that if you love your job, you'll do well in life and I'll take this into account throughout my career. I learnt so many technical skills and improved so many interpersonal skills. They will all stay with me throughout my life.
