Women in Investments Event Review

Attending the Women in Investment Event was a unique experience to network with current employees and learn more about the opportunities available at Aberdeen Standard Investments. I would truly recommend attending this Insight (afternoon) to learn more about the company and get tips on how to apply for a role in this organisation.

This was just an afternoon visit so it is hard to determine how I feel valued during my short time within the company however, during the time I spent there I saw a lovely open and friendly culture that answered all of my questions and gave my insight into the company.

As I previously mentioned this Insight was was just an afternoon visit so it is hard to determine how I felt about the guiance/support I recieved during my short time within the company however, during the time I spent there I saw a lovely open and friendly culture that gave me the impression they would give guidnance/support which they gave me duirng the programme by answering my questions.

The information I received helped me to develop my knowledge of what areas I am lacking to get into the degree I want to enter. I have knowledge that proved valuable to help me improve my application and future job prospects so I would definately recommend going to thsi event

The structure was excellent with a good timetable of the events which were running for the day. We were on tables of 4-5 and the person who spoke to us rotated and we have at the beginning a very insightful presentation from a person in the HR team discussing the history of the company

The general atmosphere during the insight was fantastic. It was an open and friendly atmosphere and I believe from the experience that this would be a great atmosphere to work in with a friendly and open environment. The atmosphere includes a good diversity in the organisation which is valued and encouraged.

Due to the presentations that occurred at the beginning of the event useful insight into the history, culture and values of the firm were presented. Through networking I got to ask questions about the different areas and my understanding about a full time role within the firm increased which I am grateful for

The insight gave great insight into the companies culture this was an insight afternoon full of employees from different backgrounds and age ranges (seniority) which could give insight into how the culture has changed over the years and what the company stands for now and what the future different is of the company

I was not paid or reimbursed expenses because I live in London. If I was travelling outside of London I would be eligible to claim back expenses for travel if I kept the receipts and filled out their form proving what the funds are for. But because I live in London this was not required.
