    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • The project have been quite challenging but defintely a good experience to prepare for a professional placement

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    • I felt very valued by my project leader but sadly as soon as he was gone my team did not really treat me as they would value my contribution in the project leads absence.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    • I was given good support by my supervisor but not that much of guidance specially concerning my tasks.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • Overall I was quite busy on a daily basis. Has been more during the time my project leader wasn't available.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    • The content and responsiblity continously went up during my placement. Again I was given loads of responsiblity during the absensce of the project lead.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • I think my communication skills developed a lot, especially concerning escalation topics and motivation of team members. Sadly I haven't received any special training which will help me with my degrees or beyond.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • Due to the lack of replacement for people that left, the amount of work and the problems occuring with the project the atmosphere in my office wasn't that positive.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

    • From the administrative point of view the internship was quite well organized. But quite relying on the former intern to help with the organisation

    • They did not really invest in intern, but if you performed well they're trying to offer you a job placement.

    • Since RR is part of the BMW Group the prospects are quite appealing for me.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • Yes, most of the students involved in social events during and after their placements.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

    • The living expenses are quite high in this area. But beach was close.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?

    • Nightlife does not really take place in Chichester. But interns usually take the opportunity to go out in nearby cities.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?

    • Chichester doesn't really offer loads of opportunities but the beach is close and other big cities easy to reach by public transportation.
