    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed my time on the EY - Women in Business Insight Day, over the course of the two days I believe the staff went into great detail on what each department within EY does and were very good at expressing their values within the company and how they value their staff.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt very valued whilst attending the insight day. It was very genorous of the company to put me up in accommodation at the Hilton for the two nights and cover train expenses. We were also taken on a social on one of the evenings which was once again covered by EY

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I do believe the staff who ran the insight day made a great effort in trying to make everyone feel included and involved over the two days. However i think the number of people at the insight day was too many as it was hard to connect with the staff more personally as there was so many students.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The final task was to present infront of the room of over 100 people. This was quite daunting at the start but was a great opportunity to watch how others behave on stage and learn how to beat express yourself and remain confident when talking infront of a large audience.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight day was very well structured. Each activity or talk flowed well between each other and the staff always seemed to know exactly what was happening and times were stuck to very well. They were able to get senior members of staff to dedicate their time to the event as well.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • As EY had tried to convey, it was always a very friendly atmosphere in the venue. All of the staff were very approachable and were aware that people may have been nervous and didn’t force anyone to speak up if they didn’t want too. They made sure if you wanted the opportunity to speak you had it.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We did a lot of group work and each table had a table host to it who worked at EY. She was therefore able to answer any questions we had and helped push up to develop our skills and be more confident in the group. This was also done through the presentation exercise.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The insight day was very good at helping me understand what it would be like to work within the firm on a day to day basis and over the whole time you would be there. They made sure to show off their people centered focus and the clear career path that exists within EY.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight day was very helpful in order to help me understand the culture at EY. It was clear from everyone who spoke at the talks that it is a very friendly workspace at EY where everyone is valued equally as shown by the hot desks in the office where the partners also sit.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content definitely helped me to better understand what each sector does within EY. We also took part in a personality test in order to better find out what we are like in a work environment and where we would best fit. The staff were very good and answering all of our questions.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Travel and accommodation expenses were paid for our trip. As I had travelled far, both of my train journeys were paid for and I was also put up in a really nice room in the Hilton Tower Hotel opposite the EY Office. This definitely was a benefit of the days.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were plenty of opportunities for networking over the course of two days. One of the activities was a networking event where we rotated over 13 tables with people from different departments from EY where we were able to ask them whatever questions we wanted to too find out more.

    5/5
