    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement. Having a placement in Central London was great because it's a busy city with lots to do. Everyone in the office was friendly and helpful and the placement involved a variety of tasks and responsibilities

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued by my colleagues. From the beginning I was treated like part of a team and not just the placement student. My colleagues took time to explain tasks to me and were always ready to help. The office is a very social environment which made me feel welcome and helped me settle in.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Both my manager and supervisor has given me lots of support and guidance throughout my placement. They're always ready to answer my questions and have helped me settle into both the role and the team. They've been with the company for years and have excellent knowledge of its operations and people.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Towards the beginning of the month it can get very busy however there are also times where it's less busy

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given lots of responsibility during my placement and was also given the option of additional responsibilities e.g. being part of the social comittee.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I was given lots of training during my placement including Excel courses, first aid training and refining courses. Alot of the training offered was relevant to the industry and to my role therefore it improved my performance and understanding of the company. This role has given me a practical understanding of finance which will help me in my degree and after I graduate.

  • The cost of living in london can be expensive however I lived at home so it wasn't a problem for me. There's lots of things to do in London so socialising can be reasonable. The office is in zone 1 therefore travel could be expensive if you're travelling from outside of London
