The Role
I really enjoyed my placement. Having a placement in Central London was great because it's a busy city with lots to do. Everyone in the office was friendly and helpful and the placement involved a variety of tasks and responsibilities
I felt very valued by my colleagues. From the beginning I was treated like part of a team and not just the placement student. My colleagues took time to explain tasks to me and were always ready to help. The office is a very social environment which made me feel welcome and helped me settle in.
Both my manager and supervisor has given me lots of support and guidance throughout my placement. They're always ready to answer my questions and have helped me settle into both the role and the team. They've been with the company for years and have excellent knowledge of its operations and people.
Towards the beginning of the month it can get very busy however there are also times where it's less busy
I was given lots of responsibility during my placement and was also given the option of additional responsibilities e.g. being part of the social comittee.
I was given lots of training during my placement including Excel courses, first aid training and refining courses. Alot of the training offered was relevant to the industry and to my role therefore it improved my performance and understanding of the company. This role has given me a practical understanding of finance which will help me in my degree and after I graduate.
The Company
The office atmosphere is great. Everyone is very social and friendly
The placement was very well organised. Each student has a mentor and I recieved hand over notes to help me complete my tasks.

The Culture
The social scene is good. Alot of people from the office meet up on fridays after work.
The cost of living in london can be expensive however I lived at home so it wasn't a problem for me. There's lots of things to do in London so socialising can be reasonable. The office is in zone 1 therefore travel could be expensive if you're travelling from outside of London
There's great nightlife in london
The sports and social committee organises a range of events including football, netball, golf, theatre trips, quizzes , dinner dances and more
