The Role
The overall job was good and very varied and did allow me to be challenged. Some of the bureaucracy of working for a big company was annoying at times and led to some tasks taking longer than necessary. The working environment was also very good and I got on well with all members of the department and felt i worked well with them.
Got on well, shared banter and where able to help each other out.
responded to my request when i asked for experience if different sections of the business and had the confidence in me to lead a project.
Mainly a support role so work flow varied depending on the reliability of the software.
Was given several projects to lead and was trusted to carry out the work myself.
The business skills i have got will help me for the rest of my working life, i also now have much more confidence within the work place. Alot of the actual work was not directly related to my degree however i feel that i did pick up some good technical skills such as programming a cloud computing environment and some telecomms information. i also have a far greater understanding of how the oil and energy industries work.
The Company
Alot of characters in ICT department.
It was really well organised from the assessment day, through the monthly catch-ups and i was assigned a mentor. conocophillips have run the scheme for several years now and know how to handle everything.
I had a couple of training days in programming etc and could have had more if i had wanted them.

Working from home
The company is going through a major re-organisation and as such future staffing requirements are still to be finalised. I have been told that I will have a very good chance of getting job if I get in touch in future, if not in UK then globally.
The Culture
ConocoPhillips have a very low labour turnover meaning there are few workers under 30, however i regularly socialised with those within my age group and have made some life long friends.
Housing costs in Leamington Spa and Warwick are far higher than my home town, but the salary offered by ConocoPhillips allows for a comfortable living standard.
Plenty of bars, but few decent clubs. I went out in Coventry a bit as well.
Lots of charity events, sports club and several company events throughout the year, all of which where highly enjoyable.
