The Role
It was one of the greatest and most enjoyable summers so far, I would definitely recommend a similar program to anyone interested in game development.
I can't put into words how close I was with my team before the internship ended, and there was a constant stream of feedback and valuable communication with all my colleagues.
I had regular face to face meetings with my supervisor and the campus team to assess my needs and provide me with tools that would help me in day to day work.
There was a variable amount of work/responsibility based on the different phases of the project. There were a few relatively quite days and also a few relatively hectic days especially towards a soft launch/milestone for the project.
During the internship I was given a surprising amount of responsibility, given that I was modifying commercial code that would be in the hands of millions of people very soon. I greatly appreciated that and tried my best to provide adequate work given the magnitude of the project.
In terms of skill development, this was an invaluable experience, and it will definitely echo during my career as an example of a wonderful mix of work and fun in the office. I had many discussions with some very smart people and I definitely learned a plethora of techniques that will help me in my professional life.
The Company
As I've said in many occasions throughout this internship, this summer was one of the few times that looking forward to Mondays was something logical, Every person I met was extremely friendly and they would always go out of the way to help you. I really felt that the company valued my feedback and was honestly interested in helping me out in whatever way they can.
The internship was well organised with a good mix of intern events and company/studio outings. The only criticism in this area would be that due to the different stages of the projects the interns were working on and that quite a few intern events were mandatory, in some cases (i.e. close to a launch) some interns including myself believed that work should be prioritized over the many events that were happening.
The company seemed very keen on helping me with any issues I had, and would regularly ask me if I would need assistance/training in a particular area of my work.

Both the salary and benefits as well of course as the great atmosphere that King offers are extremely appealing, and I am personally planning to pursue a full time position in the company after I finish my studies.
The Culture
The atmosphere in the company and among colleagues was outstanding. It seemed almost unnatural that anyone could go up to any group of people and starting chatting. This was one of the best aspects of the internship.
London is a relatively expensive city, so some increase in the daily costs was expected, however due to the great benefits of the program, particularly the relocation package, made the overall stay very affordable.
There were quite a few interesting places to visit, some great cinemas and restaurants, with some having extremely long queues, but this is to be expected in London.
We had regular lunch outings with many of my colleagues, and many suggestions for external events/gatherings outside the office. There were also personal invitations from many different colleagues to try out different activities outside the office too which was fantastic.
