    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It got better towards the end but in the beginning felt very much out of my depth because I had no handover and had to pretty much teach myself everything

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Running joke that interns don't do any real work. Most of the time funny but sometimes crossed the line and was offensive

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • They had very busy schedules so weren't available for questions, only feedback really. Support usually came from just asking associates who do the work

    2/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Work seemed to be very sporadic, no real plan of what work to do or when it needed to be done by

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Majority of responsibility came from being the interim leathershop trainer, only the most qualified because I sat opposite him until he left the company

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Never really felt my skills were utilised as a design student. Design tasks were given to the apprentices, did try and get involved when I could

    1/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Relaxed most of the time and great banter with the associates. When audits were coming round, that's when things on shop floor and in the offices for tense

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • No real plan of what I'll be doing for the year

    2/5
