    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have absolutely adored my time here, I had no idea I could learn so much in 12 months!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • With multiple brands you are able to feel valued across the brands as well as within your immediate team.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager and head of business have made my time here as easy as it could be whilst learning as much as possible. You are able to apply for a mentor if the support isn't there, but this doesn't happen often!

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Very busy, but still had enough time to complete uni course work and personal development goals such as Excel training.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • At times it's scary how much responsibility you have been given, but I know without this responsibility it would be a lot harder to be motivated!

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My placement has shaped the modules I have selected in my final year and has also changed my future career planning.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • VWG is an extremely friendly business, with the lack of offices and visibility of all staff - hierarchy isn't an issue here/

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The only thing missing from my placement year was involvement in an undergraduate project which has been included in the programme going forward!

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I have been able to improve my computing skills and start to create a personal development plan.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    National Travel

    Financial Bonus

    Above 25 days holiday

    Working from home

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Extremely appealing many undergraduates apply for the graduate scheme

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, I have made friends for life.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Coming from Wales, Milton Keynes seemed a lot more expensive to me. But with the pay at VWG this was affordable.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I miss being able to walk to bars and pubs with loads of friends from my house! You need to drive/taxi to most places in Milton Keynes.

    2/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Due to meeting a lot of students in the same situation and with the same perspective, there is always someone to socialise with

    4/5
