    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed the placement thoroughly but was happy to return to university.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • ALthough I felt valued by my colleagues, the placement was too short to be given more responsibility and bigger projects. As a result the work given was shorter and less important.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Everyone I worked with was happy to help with any questions

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There were days when I had very little to do, but it allowed me to do personal work.

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As we rotated departments half-way through the placement, the time spent in each department was too short to be given any full responsibility.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I was able to compile a quaterly report for chartership and was given advice and feedback on my report.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was good with a good balance of fun and work.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship itself was organised well but this was the first year there was a rotation between departments which meant it was a little unorganised.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was given some free time to complete personal development reports and was also sent emails inviting me to attend addition seminars to improve my PDR.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Personally I would prefer to experience a different working environment however I have always wanted to do this, so this was not effected by the placement itself

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I participated in football once a week and also went out for lunch for collegues birthdays etc.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost varied depending on where the event was. I partipated in 5-a-sides once a week and it was on a pay as you play basis.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The placement I got was near my home so there was no change in the places I went at night. However the nightlife is good.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, emails were regularly sent round inviting the collegues to attend party etc.
