I have enjoyed this insight more than previous ones that I have done. There was plenty of work for me to do that was challenging but not unrealistic. Everyone was extremely friendly and we were all made to feel at ease right away, with everyone being very approachable and willing to answer any questions.
The scheme provided a good insight in to the work which the firm does, and the kinds of tasks that would be expected of a trainee solicitor. Overall, the culture was inclusive and welcoming, both from the employees at the firm, and the other Vacation Scheme students, and this made the placement a highly enjoyable experience.
I throughly enjoyed my time at Pinsent Masons, I sat in the Corporate department for my 2 weeks. This allowed me to get a full insight into real pratical legal work, which is such a change from university modules. I helped draft ancillaries for a closing deal, as well as advise clients regarding their limitations- really enjoyable!
The Pinsents vacation placement totally exceeded my expectations! It was my first summer placement so I wasn't sure what to expect - I never thought it would fly by so quickly or that I'd have so much fun. As well being given a range of exciting work to do, there were so many social events to attend and I feel like I really got to know a lot of people from the office.
I can't describe how much I enjoyed it. It was so much different than my past experiences with other law firms. I felt welcomed from the very first day, everyone was incredibly kind, helpful and easy-going and the three weeks felt like a blink of an eye. I will remember the placement for life.
Really enjoyable experience - real work, enthusiastic people who explained the tasks at every stage and were willing to spend time explaining about the firm and what it stands for/ the opportunities that could be available if they are to offer a training contract. The placement started with an induction session with all the vacation schemers from the English offices which was a really useful day to get to know people and find out more about the two weeks.
Greatly. The experience with the firm gave a huge insight into the work done, the culture and the people who make up the firm. The insight was extremely valuable and I felt welcomed by every person at the firm. I was highly involved in work with my team and given the chance to work on a range of tasks.
Really enjoyed my Vacation Placement, got involved in a variety of different tasks in the Commerical Department. Everyone was very friendly and approachable and keen to help me get involved. There were also a variety of fun social events that I enjoyed going to and getting to know people.
I really enjoyed the vacation scheme and felt it gave me a really good insight into commercial law in general, and Pinsent Masons as a firm. Everyone I met was very genuine and welcoming, and the work was very interesting. I feel that I learned a lot and really benefited from this vacation placement.
I really enjoyed the scheme. The scheme had a fantastic induction where we had the chance to meet and network with other scheme participants from across other locations. The scheme was really well organised and we were given a fantastic programme of events, the highlights were the sector week presentations which offered the opportunity to hear about departments which we weren't working in.
It was a very enjoyable vacation scheme. It had the perfect balance of challenging and stimulating work and really fun socials. I was placed in the CAD (Construction Advisory & Disputes) team according to my own preference. My Trainee Buddy and Supervisor were incredibly friendly and made asking questions/ getting feedback a completely painless experience. Everyone from paralegals to partners in the team made an effort to get to know me and make me feel like a valued member of the team.
It was an amazing two week experience to get a first hand insight into the functioning, culture and practice of an international law firm. The people I met were truly passionate about their work and were always very welcoming. In addition, I got to get involved in some really high quality and varied work during my time at the firm.
The Vacation Scheme was really enjoyable as there were equal parts social events and equal parts interesting work given. I was never bored and was given work to complete a trainee may do. Several social events with the trainees were scheduled over the two weeks that not only gave us an insight into the firm and training contract, but also allowed all the vacation placement students to bond which was nice.
The insight was a good general introduction to the firm. The people were friendly and welcoming, and they were always keen and willing to answer my questions. However, a lot of the time was spent doing busy work or just generally trying to stretch out pretty simple tasks. The days should be broken up with more talks, or there should be made a concerted effort to ensure the work is available for us to do.
I really enjoyed the experience. I was placed in a small team and had the opportunity to really experience what the work would be like as a trainee in the restructuring team would be doing. I think 2 weeks was a great length because I had time to adjust to the working styles.
