Selected to take part in a 3-day virtual insight programme held by Savills graduate recruitment team. Hosted on the platform Zoom, where I heard from different associates who work in different sectors including rural, development, property management, valuation and more. The insight programme was made up of employees with in the company giving talks on their job roles with in Savills. Furthermore, graduates gave a talk on Savills' graduate scheme and their experience in participating in that process. There was group exercise that involved a presentation at the end of the course, presented by the students to a panel of directors
On a day to day basis, there were regular talks by all the speakers on the various facets of the Savills business; these talks were informative and interesting. There was also opportunities to have Q&A sessions with grads and directors which was very helpful.
Attended a series of presentations throughout the day by various departments with an opportunity to ask questions at the end. Each afternoon, time was allocated towards the preparation of a 10 minute group presentation on the issues facing the industry over the next 5 years.
Started at 10AM and finished at 5PM for 3 days from the 23rd March to the 25th March. We engaged with current graduate and director Q&A's, did a group work project with other insight students and then presented this, we had many talk for all the different areas within Savills and learnt about what the options are for us in the future, regarding APC and the route we can take.
The morning ran from 10-11:30 and was educational learning about various different departments within the business; from calls with numerous members within in the Savills team. After a small break, we continued calls with other departments giving us an insight on what teams do and how their day is scheduled. In the afternoon we were given a group task to present on the last day about issues the property market will face in the next 5 years.
The insight programme consisted of 3 days via zoom from 10am until 5 pm. Throughout the week there was plenty of opportunities to ask questions to employees of all levels from graduates to directors. We were able to gain knowledge through virtual presentations from many departments within savills. We were also able to connect with other students on the programme. We were split into groups of 10 to create a presentation to share on the final day, this was a fun and interactive way for us to get to know each other and to be involved.
The programme ran virtually over three days. We were given a range of talks from different departments within Savills each day which gave an overview of what it would be like to work for the business. We were also given plenty of information about the APC, had the opportunity to network with directors and recent grads and also worked in a group to prepare a presentation.
We received talks from several departments of the business for example, rural, asset management and valuation. These provided insight in to different aspects of the company and allowed for Q & A afterwards. In addition we had opportunity to ask a selection of graduates and directors questions about the company and wider industry. Finally we completed a small group presentation on the opportunities and challenges facing the property industry in the next 5 years.
