In my sales role, I was working within the sales team, we had a morning sales meeting each day. Throughout the day, my tasks changed depending on what I was working on. In my role, the tasks/jobs I was doing included - Liaising and working with Free Trialists, Learning about our eCommerce offering and helping sell the solution, Following up on Prospect’s Free Trial Marketing campaigns, Carrying out various Lead Generation tasks, Working on my own Sales opportunities and supporting the team on larger deals.
As a Customer Success Assistant, I am involved in all aspects of the business – ranging from Sales and Project Management to Customer Service and Consultancy. At the forefront of our Customer Success team, we are often the first people that our customers come to for advice and help. Whether it be managing a project or consulting with customers during the Onboarding process, I am constantly establishing new relationships and building customer rapport.
I completed tasks as part of the triweekly sprints. This involved coding them on the front-end with HTML, CSS and TypeScript and on the back end using SQL, as well as middle development in .NET Framework C#. The first two weeks of each sprint involve purely coding these tasks and functionally testing each other’s code. The final week of each sprint was used for quality assurance testing before this sprints code was pushed live.
As a full-stack developer, I worked as a member of a friendly SCRUM team completing items from the sprint backlog. I worked on new feature requests and bug fixes for our SAAS platform. Often, that would involve writing Vue.js code, extending ERP integrations with Node.js, or making changes to C#.NET APIs.
My role is extremely varied, no two days are the same, this is a great perk as your days are never mundane. I mainly complete design based tasks, whether it’s creating animations or graphically illustrating promotional content. I was allowed to lead on many projects, one of which was a explainer video, which is now displayed front and centre on the website. Additionally, I designed a video template to inform customers of our product updates, which is now implemented on a bimonthly basis. One task I do complete regularly is contacting customers for testimonials, this is very a rewarding job as I get to hear positive feedback about our product and the team here at Prospect.
I highly enjoyed my work placement with ProspectSoft due to a large number of reasons. Firstly, as it's an SME, it has a great culture to become close to the people you work with, allowing for personal growth within the job and also developing skills. There are also many opportunities to take on which provided me with a great deal of responsibility in the role - something which I feel is exclusive to this company, as we were treated just like any other member of staff. The job itself has a variety of roles that kept me busy and engaged throughout the year.
As a whole, the placement was consistently enjoyable. What I took away most would probably be the people I got to live and work with, who were all really easy to get on with. I would also gain a thorough understanding of what my university degree in industry and what I would need to improve or I could capitalise on. Working at ProspectSoft was truly satisfying and gave me the experience of responsibility/respect from delivering real-world work.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement. I got up to interesting things and learned many new skills which will help me in the future. The atmosphere and work ethic was very comfortable, and I felt like part of the team from day one. In my initial search for a placement, I was looking for a role in which I could have a hand in many different areas and learn and apply skills that I did previously had little knowledge. I was provided with this opportunity daily at ProspectSoft. I never felt like I was out of my depth thanks to the knowledgeable and very approachable people on my team, and in fact on other teams.
I thoroughly enjoyed my work placement at ProspectSoft. When first starting the placement, I had very little knowledge of the software world or even really what CRM was, however over the past year I’ve developed an extensive knowledge of the industry, how tech companies operate and now a future career path I’m hoping to pursue. There was also a great social side to the company, I also met loads of great people both placements and non-placements.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at ProspectSoft Ltd. My role was to provide first line IT support, and I enjoyed providing technical related support as well as providing answers to more general enquiries. Throughout the placement I have developed my technical and soft skills such as problem solving and database knowledge and have also learnt new skills. As well as the experience, the people there are all lovely and there are a lot of social events. It has been a great year.
I can honestly say I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my placement at ProspectSoft. Right from the get-go, I was made to feel as though I was a highly valued member of the team, with all the responsibilities of a full-time employee. The placement as a whole was extremely well organised, so I knew what was expected of me day to day - which definitely put me at ease going into a new working environment. ProspectSoft is a relatively young company with lots of the management team being previous placements themselves, meaning they understand what it is like to be in your shoes. Overall, I can see why the placement scheme is a highly successful at ProspectSoft – I have learned so much over the past year and I would recommend it to any undergraduate looking to undertake a year in industry.
I loved my placement. Whether talking about the job I was doing, the people I was working with or the people that I lived with, the whole experience was brilliant. My placement has given me a much clearer idea of where I want to take my career once I finish university. Not only this but I now have a much better idea of the sort of work that will provide me with satisfaction and enjoyment.
