    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • As a new Business Sales placement my role involves creating new leads, presenting demonstrations of the software and cultivating relationships with customers. This process involves a lot of cold calling and communication with a variety of customers worldwide. I am also assigned tasks to chase potential customers to get them booked in for demonstrations and follow up calls, to ultimately get the sale over the line.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • My role requires me to communicate with lots of different customers so I would say this is the main skill that I have developed during my time at ProspectSoft and, I now feel very confident when calling customers. I believe communication and confidence are major skills that I will need throughout my future career path, so I'm glad to have developed them. I have also progressed my IT skills, having spent a year working at a software company which will certainly benefit me in the future.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • From the very beginning of my placement I have been given lot's of responsibility, which has helped me to develop as a person. After completing my training I was immediately required to interact with customers and create potential leads for the team. Being given this much responsibility has been one of my favourite parts about the placement.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • We have a morning call every day where my manager will ask me how I am getting on and I have the opportunity to ask any questions I've got. We also have quarterly calls to discuss my targets and what I can do to improve which is very helpful.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • There is a friendly and family culture at ProspectSoft, which made it very easy to settle in. Everyone at the company is happy to help you as much as they can, so I have felt comfortable asking anyone questions when I need help with something. There is also lots of social events that occur throughout the year which are a great opportunity to get to know your colleagues outside of work.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working at the company, where I have learnt so much and developed an in-depth understanding of the business and its fantastic CRM software. It will be a shame to leave ProspectSoft and I'll miss all of my colleagues.

  • Make sure to be yourself in the application process and try to show your personality as best you can. If you do end up working at ProspectSoft, make sure you throw yourself into every opportunity and you will end up finishing the placement having learnt so many valuable skills.
