I have recurring responsibilities each day in which i use cash sheets to identify any funding needs or cash surpluses. I then raise a deal sheet for loans and deposits to be made with internal and external counter-parties. I am involved with the process from start to finish including raising high value payments.
Each day is completely different depending on the time of the year. I complete a mixture of admin tasks as I am responsible for the teams inbox as well as more bespoke tasks including monthly reports. I work closely with the internal team and external suppliers to organise training sessions throughout the year and am responsible for getting people to sign up to our courses and ensuring they attend on the day.
The general overview of the role is to monitor data and come up with competitive pricing strategies for our vehicles in the used car market. You can also expect to be involved in more daily pricing of individual cars, depending on a variety of different factors, whilst ensuring these are always up to date and the most effective they can be.

My role consisted of getting involved in different audits in my team. This includes the start to finish process of an audit. I performed many reviews of documents and sought recommendations. On a monthly basis I would create the BoM report. Every day is a different day; completing new tasks and learning new skills.
I couldn’t have asked for a better placement! I really enjoyed taking on new tasks and developing new skills in a professional but friendly environment where my work had a direct impact on the company. I worked in Asset Risk as a Vehicle Forecasting Analyst which gave me the chance to work closely with the cars belonging to Volkswagen Group. I was one of twenty-six undergraduates so it was great to have a group of people who I could spend time with outside of work. The job came with a number of perks, such as the employee car scheme, which helped make the year as enjoyable as it was.
I throughly enjoyed my placement at VWFS. It was an invaluable experience which helped me to grow both as a person and as a professional. I got the chance to work with a wide variety of stakeholders across the business and was given the responsibility to lead my own projects. I gained so many skills and made life-long friends and relationships which will prepare me for my future career after university.
This was a great placement with so many opportunities to grow and develop. Your team are super supportive and always try to put you in the best positions to learn and enhance your skills. I know when I leave I’ll have lots to talk about in future interviews.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at Volkswagen Financial Services. I was given key responsibilities in my role which enabled me to grow personally and professionally. The tasks I carried out had genuine impacts on the wider business. There was never a day where I had nothing to do. There were always opportunities to gain exposure to other departments which enabled me to learn more about the entire organisation. As a result, I really understood how my work was impacting the business.
I have enjoyed it quite a lot - I have started off as Structured Finance Undergraduate and half way through due to my performance I have been given additional role of Treasury Undergraduate. I have been able to learn a lot from the experience and was trusted by the managers to do my job.
My placement year at VWFS has been one of the best experiences. I have learnt so much in my time here and the exposure the undergrads are given to the business is incredible. You are welcomed in straight away and made to feel part of the company. I have met friends for life, including colleagues and fellow undergrads!
I loved working at VWFS, honestly couldn't fault the whole year. As there was 26 undergraduates also in the same situation starting the placement didn't feel daunting at all - there was lots of social aspects as well and we all got on well. I was able to have exposure to lots of different areas of the business through overviews.
I've really enjoyed my placement at VWFS. I found it a welcoming and enjoyable environment to be in, especially for placement students who have often not had the experience of a office job before. I felt like a valued member of the team from the beginning and learnt more than I thought I would!
The structure of the placement and the thought and attention to detail given has been amazing. There are so many opportunities you can get involved in, and you have a strong support network throughout, whether that be the other 20+ Undergrads or your team.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement year at Volkswagen Financial Services! I have had the most incredible team to guide me, and I have been encouraged to immersed myself into endless opportunities across multiple departments in the company. I have shared my placement year with a fantastic cohort and it's been incredibly rewarding to see how we have all developed both personally and professionally.
