    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I review all marketing material from Audi, Skoda, VW, VW Commercial Vehicles, SEAT and Cupra to ensure the finance content is being advertised compliantly and is in line with the guidance given by the FCA. I communicate with the internal marketing team, and the marketing teams for each brand every day

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have developed by time management and organisation as this is a very important aspect of the job. I have to have a good eye for detail due to checking over multiple marketing assets in a day. Being able to communicate effectively with people, both internal and external to the business, is something I have learned to do with the help of my team

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes. I did not feel like "the undergrad". I felt like part of the team and I was valued. I oversaw the development of customer facing and retailer facing documents, as well as being given the responsibility of being the single point of contact for a brand. The support was always there and I never felt like I was just left to my own devices

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • A lot. I couldn't ask for more. My team are so supportive and I know that I can ask any of them for support and they are more than happy to help. Also, when I am given feedback, it is done in a supportive way, and I am always given pointers on how I can improve. The environment is so supportive and no one is ever made to feel like they can't ask for help.

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from your line manager?

  • How would you rate the support and guidance from the wider team?

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Really positive. Everyone is welcoming and happy to help. The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiative is taken seriously, which is really good to see. It isn't treated as a "one and done" type of thing and, as someone who is neuro-divergent, I have been made to feel able to be myself and that was a big worry for me before I started

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Volkswagen Financial Services
  • Prepare for the assessment centre by doing research into Volkswagen Financial Services- not just Volkswagen. Without doing the research, admittedly I wasn't aware that VWFS was separate to VW, so this will give you more background knowledge going into the recruitment process.
