The Role
It was fine, could do with a lot more guidance though, coming from an education standpoint.
Could be a bit too much. Being someone who can use a computer, a lot of trivial problems can arise and being "The IT Guy" can prove stressful at times.
At the start there was very little structure. Did not know what I was supposed to be doing for at least 3 weeks after starting.
Was not really given that much work to do to be honest. Weeks, and sometimes months of doing nothing were quite common.
Mainly the IT systems when things went wrong.
Did not learn any particular software related skills. All skills were taught by myself or previously.
The Company
Very relaxed.
Just felt like a general job to be honest.
Not sure I understand the question.
National Travel
Above 25 days holiday
I would rather work with like minded technical people (programmers etc) in the future. Had enough of being "The IT Guy"
The Culture
No other placement students. Just me!
Living on an RAF base was very cheap.
Although not always utilized by myself, there was a slight one if you went looking for it. Messes, Cinema, Cafe, Bar, etc.
