About You
Very knowledgeable as to the practice areas of the Firm. People have been keen on introducing me to new knowledge and the operation of a law firm. The workshops held were also helpful in helping us understand the market.
I felt very valued as a VacSchemer despite my lack of experience. People have been friendly in sending me materials to read and absorb. I have had the chance to get involved in large cases.
My supervisor has been exceptionally supportive in always caring for my wellbeing and adaption to the Firm, and that people in general are willing to help us whenever there are problems. It was a bit unfortunate that contact hours and bonding with Trainee Buddy was not as strong as expected.
A huge and broad variety of commercial knowledge, as well as how law is practiced at a firm. This would encourage me to approach legal studies from a practical perspective at university. Communication skills and creative thinking have also been part of this two-week programme, and I am sure it will assist me in terms of my career and personal development.
The Company
Very well structured - there is a chance to take some time off every day and be involved in workshops!
People are very friendly and generally loving their job - very surprised to know compared to many other law firms.
Senior level of personnel have been invited to give us talks and interact during workshops. We have also been given access to important documents and participate in drafting work, which in practice can be used for client work.
Absolutely - the pressure that I am likely to face, the international aspect involved in the daily work, and so on.
Through interaction with people, and how they approach problems and tasks in a positive way, I understand more about the culture here. Their emphasis on work-life balance is also very impressive.
I have understood the firm in terms of its strengths and weaknesses compared to firms of a similar size in London. Mainly the culture here makes me very happy about planning a career here.
Everything Else
Well paid as an insight student.
I enjoyed the networking opportunities with people of different levels of the firm, ranging from workshops to webinars.
They were fun and not tense. People are very honest in making comments about the firm.
Yes, the huge amount of socials organised among employees make the firm a lot more interesting.
Worth a try as a way to understand commercial law and less nerve-wrecking compared to some other firms in the city.
