Tax Associate Review

I really enjoyed it, I got to do a range of different work allowing me to see all different things Deloitte as well as my individual team do

I felt like a valued member of the team, the work I was doing really counted and I was given great feedback and help throughout

I received a lot of guidance and support. I had a buddy and champion within the office which helped, but everyone was also happy to give me help and feedback on any work I did which gave me lots of guidance

I think the skills I've developed will help me greatly in the rest of my degree and beyond. I have a better understanding of the commercial world and being in a work environment has encouraged me to continue trying hard in my degree

Really well structured, there were SVS socials and support throughout so there was structure through that and the team made sure I was getting a variety of work so I could learn different things throughout my insight, The regional induction at the beginning of the insight also made the experience less daunting at the beginning.

Great. The team in the office were friendly and created a good atmosphere to work in. The constant support, guidance and advice also makes you feel comfortable despite not being used to the environment, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is not able to do a full internship or placement year but still wants an insight into Deloitte

We were given general training on the first day in the office as an SVS group, but then I was given more personal training in my team. I felt invested in as I was given great direction with the work I was doing to make sure I developed skills that would be necessary for a career here

It helped me a lot, before the insight I wasn't sure what a career in the firm would entail, or in my department/team. The insight gave me great exposure to what I would be doing in a career at the firm as well as the clear progression and range of such a career

The company culture is made clear through the insight and the away day I got to take part in during my scheme also showed me the culture of the company. It was very inclusive

It helped me realise I would like a career at the company and find it interesting as before I was unsure about what the work would actually entail. The exposure to different areas showed me the range of work but gave a good idea of day-today tasks

I was paid and generously reimbursed by the company for expenses. We also got an SVS social evening paid for us by Deloitte which was really great

There was an away day with the rest of the department and plenty of social networking events

Good, interesting, good atmosphere and friendly. It gave an opportunity to meet people from different offices and areas of your own office, as well as people at different levels - you get to meet Partners and Directors as well as people who may be newer like yourself

From other employees and emails that are sent round, as well as the internet portal that tells you what's on and what there is to do inside and outside of work

Definitely. It's a great opportunity and also means I have a grad job to return to. The applications can be long/hard and off-putting but I think the work and reward of a possible job (plus a salary) should be encouraging enough. The office I was personally in was also really friendly and welcoming
