The Role
There were always a number of varied tasks that I was invovled in.
I was treated like a colleague rather than an intern student. Many people didn't realise I was on a placement year.
I gave regular updates about the work I was doing to my line manager, who was always happy to give guidance on the best way I could go about working.
There was never a dull day and the work can thick and fast.
I had my own projects that I was responsible for their successful completion. I set my own deadlines (within reason) and organised what work I had to do in the day.
I added to my knowledge of CAD. However there was no other courses or training that I went on. In fairness, it wasn't necessary to have any other training given the nature of the work that I was doing.
The Company
The office was bright and friendly. People were more than happy to help with anything I didn't know myself. I found it easy to make friends and people had a real interest in getting to know you.
There was no apparent structure to the placement year. However, given the prospect of a whirlwind tour, or being treated as a resource. I would much prefer to be of use and gain knowledge that would be beneficial. I found it imporant to continuously look at the work you were doing and evaluate whether or not you were benefiting from its completion.
I would have liked to see a more formal method of tracking my progress. However, I always felt that everyone I worked with had my best interests in mind.

I would be more than happy to continue my development and career within Kimberly-Clark.
The Culture
I had a fantastic time, there was never a shortage of things to do.
I lived in the outskirts of Hull. It is not expensive at all, neither is socialising.
There are a number of decent places to go out in Hull. There are also no shortage of pubs in the area too.
Lots.
