    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I had a very enjoyable two weeks working in the Marketing department of GRB. The work has been highly varied, from producing content for the website and scheduling tweets to helping sign up potential candidates at a graduate Careers Fair. Alongside the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the company, this has meant working with GRB has been a great experience.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt that my opinions were especially valued as I am a University student myself and so represent the target audience of GRB. I was often asked for my opinion on areas of how the business was run which was a great opportunity to give my own thoughts on the company's way of doing things.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • On the first couple of days of my internship I received a thorough overview of GRB's background and the marketing strategies they use, which set me up with a good understanding of the company before I started working on tasks. I was never left without anything to do and was regularly given new tasks to complete, which covered a variety of marketing functions. As the team is reasonably small I was occasionally the only employee from the department in the office, but this was not really an issue as I always had tasks on the go that could be completed independently.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • This opportunity has given me a good insight into the processes involved in both marketing and in recruitment, and has confirmed to me that I would be suited to a career in Marketing. The skills I have gained will hopefully improve my chances of pursuing a career in this field and has given me some relevant experience to go alongside my University studies.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was structured well, giving me a chance to gain an understanding of the business whilst gaining experience of marketing strategies. I had the chance to see how all areas of the business operated, including external events as I was able to attend a careers fair. However, there were other potential opportunities that were not able to be fit into the two weeks, which I may have been able to take part in if these were laid out more clearly in advance. Ideally I would have liked to stay a few weeks longer!
