  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • Spring into Deloitte 2015 was very interesting and opened my eyes into the service lines that Deloitte offers. I was particularly interested in Consulting, despite having known very little about it before. This is a testament to the open, friendly and informative nature at Deloitte, St. Albans.

    • Everyone was very friendly, which made the whole experience more enjoyable and informative.

    • Guidance was always available when needed.

    • This insight has enabled me to narrow down my career selection, particularly useful for internship applications next summer.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • Very tight schedule which covered a lot. The day was quite long, but I am glad that everything was packed into two days (as opposed to being spread out over more days). Everything ran on time and was done to a high standard.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?

    • As mentioned, staff were very friendly and working in small groups encouraged participation. We also stayed in a hotel for one night, which was very nice. All round, the atmosphere was very nice.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • We were put in groups and informally assessed across a number of tasks within each service line. At the end of the process, we were also given a mock interview using skills we had learnt over the two days.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    • I feel like it was very helpful in opening my eyes up into the corporate world of Deloitte and the various services it offers. However, it was noticeably very different from having a full-time role within the company. This is not a negative aspect, as this was how the insight was intended.

    • This was my main reason for applying, and I felt that I learnt a lot about the values that Deloitte holds and the corporate culture it maintains.

    • Very valuable, came away with useful information and notes.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

    • I have applied to be reimbursed for travel expenses, and am waiting for this to come into my account.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • We met Deloitte employees over dinner. These were mainly auditors, I would have liked to see more employees from the other service lines.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?

    • They were less structured because it was over dinner, but I enjoyed talking to employees in a non-corporate environment as it enabled them to give us honest opinions of working at Deloitte.
