    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I enjoyed Deloitte's Spring programme very much. Although it lasted two days, both days were packed full of case studies and opportunities to meet existing staff members working across Deloitte's four service lines, as well as opportunities to network with other participants. The first day was tiring as we had an early start and there was lots of information crammed into the entire duration of the programme, whereas the second day was significantly more chilled and less intense. Although there were frequent breaks (and food) provided throughout, maybe a better balance could have been struck between the two days. In addition, food and accommodation (very lovely stay at a wonderful hotel) were excellent, and I made good friends, so overall I really enjoyed Spring into Deloitte.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Thought the people were lovely and there was very good welfare - regular tea and coffee breaks, excellent accommodation, nice three-course meal on the first night. In addition, staff were very kind and patiently explained what they did on a daily basis.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Lots, there were opportunities throughout the two days to talk to staff members across different service lines. Business games on the first day provided an interactive environment in which we could freely ask staff about the duties they had, while in more informal situations such as over tea breaks and at dinner it was interesting to talk to a variety of staff members about their careers.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I definitely came away from the programme feeling very motivated and thinking that Deloitte is a great company I would definitely want to work for in the future. Spring into Deloitte gave me much more insight into the various lines of business that Deloitte operates in, and is much more handy than merely reading the company website. Attending the event will definitely help in applications to Deloitte or other professional services firms for that matter, and in terms of assisting me in my university course let's just say that the event provides an extra boost of motivation and reason to work hard!

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Though relatively short, I thought two days were sufficient - my only piece of feedback being that maybe the programmes could have been better spread out as there were many more case studies on the first day than on the second.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Great - everyone was lovely and friendly, and I came away making new friends. The second day was pretty cool as well when we got to step out of the office for a bit of sun, which made the general atmosphere much more relaxed and fun than I'd imagined!

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Significantly - on the first day we had a body-language expert coach us on how to project ourselves more confidently in work situations, while on the second day we also had an interview skills workshop.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • To a large extent - many opportunities were available to talk to graduates and staff members who'd been with Deloitte for two or more years.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Deloitte projected a very fun-loving image of a company that takes good care of its staff but also demands work in return for its investment. It was great being able to speak to staff members across different service lines which helped me get a more concrete understanding of the company culture and environment.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Very valuable - it helped me understand better exactly what Deloitte did and what sort of work I was more passionate about - be it data analysis, quantitative numerical analysis or strategy consulting.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was reimbursed for transport expenses up to 50 pounds.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, lots! We had a three-course dinner on the first night but also throughout the two days company representatives would come and speak to us at tea breaks.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Great, I found them useful, except that I noted that not all company representatives were equally seated at all the tables for the dinner on the first night.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Apparently there are opportunities to start your own club and receive funding, after checking with a partner, and Deloitte places great emphasis on social impact and so there are opportunities for volunteering.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Yes, I would.
