The Role
What made my placement enjoyable was the people and the firm as a whole. Everyone I met was so welcoming and nice, and I made some amazing friends along the way. The firm had a really good social life with lots of events, drinks, and parties organised which always helps too! The work was a bit boring at times but equally at times was really interesting and challenging, a mixed bag but certainly can't complain.
100%, they really took to me and I took to them. I built strong working relationships as well as friendships, always able to have a laugh with my colleagues but equally get their help and feedback whenever I needed it. They gave me serious client work, to the level of a graduate and above at times (I was on a gap year placement).
My "supervisors" ranged from 2nd year graduates to Partners, and all of them gave me all the support I needed, I never once felt out of my depth because I always had people to help me whenever I needed it. It's a very collaborative culture at Deloitte.
Not sure if 10 means really busy or if 10 means I was fully satisfied with how busy I was, so I'll go with a 7. I wasn't too stretched, the latest I had to work until was 20:45. But I wasn't quiet either, I always had something I needed to do which is always good.
As a gap year student, I was pleasantly surprised at the difficulty of work given to me at times, sometimes well beyond the level of a new grad, which made me feel more valued.
MS Office was an immense part of my job and I will carry that throughout my life, especially my Excel skills, which have come on leaps and bounds. As a person, I have matured greatly and feel far more in control of my life and have gained lots of confidence in my own abilities.
The Company
A tad quiet at times, which helps when you need to concentrate. But the guys around me are always up for a good casual chat and it is a very open and friendly atmosphere that I absolutely love.
Pretty well structured.
Massively, I was able to take days off for training at my own discretion, and had an entire 3 weeks in a hotel in London and in the Cotswolds for my initial training, which must've cost many millions in total.

The firm is amazing and I'd definitely like to go back, I can't think of a better place to work in the City.
The Culture
It was a bit divided between us due to locations and service line, but my fellow placement students within Consulting and I got on like a house on fire and we are such close friends now.
It is of course quite expensive in the City, and any social activities in the area are quite expensive. There aren't that many social places either, other than Bounce and some pubs and bars.
Terrible, only thing around is Fabric...
Absolutely, there were football and cricket teams, a gym, lots of faith networks and all sorts of other activities available.
