    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Excellent structure to the day, was a very jovial atmosphere and an informal enough setting to make us as comfortable as much as possible for the duration. Gave a perfect insight into the importance of culture of a bank, and that at a very early stage of ones university experience.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Very much so, the CEO Sergio was brought down to give us a talk which made me personally feel as if a lot was being invested in just one day. There was a lot of food! hot food was provided. On top of this a lot of employees were made available to talk to us throughout the lunch period.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Only one day so there wasnt much scope available to provide us with help on any activities, it was moreso answering any questions we had about UBS. At the end we were provided with a very detailed and excellent viewpoint on the application process from spring week through to full time roles

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • not particularly for degree, but career wise gave us the chance to network with employees and to learn a bit about the different divisions and how they contribute towards the banks structure. chance to ask questions will aid communication skills and how to sell yourself more effectively.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Had a case study session whereby analysts from the equity research division explained recent economic deals and how their role intertwines with it. Had lunch as well where we were able to freely talk to associates and vps from the divisions, ample time. Schedule produced at start of day was well adhered to

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Excellent, all UBS people I spoke to were genuinely happy to answer all questions, i spent near an hour with one MD within IBD (CCS), and the breadth of explanations were great. On top of this a very honest view of UBS was provided, most generally positive

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Not reallyt applicable due to short insight, but CEO gave a talk, and on a weekday and busy day a lot of employees were there to talk to, so for one day was an excellent amount of investment for students. Shows a lot about the companies values even in a short period of time.

    3/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Through speaking to analysts, there was a panel discussion of 4 new recruits who discussed with us working hours, any stereotypes there are about investment banking, and how UBS culture differs from others in terms of how they are treated.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Panel discussion with analysts, CEO explained what he likes to see in UBS workers, and what type of people UBS look to employ, the employees form each division explained their working hours and how UBS values affect the work they undergo on a day to day basis.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • At such an early stage of university, essential. Taught me many valuable ways to indicate my competencies on application forms, through the talk on the UBS process for spring weeks. Also taught me to dispel many rumors about working hours etc!
