The Role
Largely data management to begin with. However, this is part of the workflow and more geoscience and technical work came towards the end of the placement.
I am now permanentley based with the same team.
My manager was very helpful and understanding although he has a busy schedule.
I was very busy during the placement. However, this meant that I learnt more.
I was completely responsible for my main project and a large section of the well data purchase. I have since continued my work after joining as a permanent member of staff.
The skills I developed have helped me ease into my new role in Aberdeen.
The Company
Helpful and friendly.
The management allowed the plcement to run smoothly.
Within the 10 week program there was opportunity to develop non-technical skills.
Company Parties/Events
The Culture
Aberdeen is expensive due to the deep pockets of the oil industry. I was fortunate that Centrica paid for my accomodation.
Night life was good.
There were a large number of activities that fellow employees organised and I got involved with such as the Corporate Decathalon.
