  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • I really enjoyed my placement, there was a lot of responsibility given and I met lots of interesting people who were inspiring, I was nervous beforehand but I am pleased I took the chance to join and experience work at Deloitte

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    • Colleagues were all supportive and helpful, for example when I had questions they always took the time to help. I found the work challenging from time to time but the people around me always took time to help and talk.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    • I am talking about the manager on my placement for the answer above, in explaining how helpful staff were. This was good as the manager was very busy with a tight deadline on the job we were on.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • There was a lot of work to do but I expected this before the placement so I felt ready. There was a deadline on my job for the week after I finished my placement and we were all busy working to the date.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    • I wouldn't say I was running the show!! But I had a lot of responsibility during the placement. Often I was given sole responsibility to complete sections of work and I felt I made a real contribution in a short time

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • I felt I developed lots of skills especially my confidence in working in such a big firm like Deloitte is. Also I feel ready to convert to a firm like Deloitte and I feel I know the variety and day to day work so much better than before this placement

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • The atmosphere was positive but we did have to work hard and at times there was not much conversation but at other times we would talk about the weekend, television shows and things like that. So it was a mixed but quite fun place to work

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

    • I thought the placement was really well set up, the induction was great at meeting so many new people who I have stayed in touch with, This really helped settle me into the placement for the weeks ahead.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • The training was quite on the job so I didn;t have that much time to do anything more formal. I don't know if that would have been available if I had asked my manager or buddy, but I feel development was important at Deloitte

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?

    • I would like to remain in Deloitte for my full time career and I have applied. The prospects are of great interest to me and I do want to undertake the further study for a qualification which wasn't available in my short placement

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • I had two really good centrally organised socials during the placement and both were really good fun and ended quite late into the evening with other placement students going on afterwards. There was also a good social scene in my department

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?

    • It was quite expensive to socialise especially as I wasn;t paid until after I started the placement so that was limiting

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?

    • The nightlife was great with lots of bars and pubs I didnt know of before around the office. I didn't get to see all the places people talked about but I would be keen to explore more in the future!
