Role Description

Working in the development department presented a diverse range of roles and tasks that I was involved with. Though the main project that I undertook during my time at Savills was to produce a report for Tower Hamlets Borough Council I also attended meetings with clients, site visits and conducted market research.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office atmosphere was friendly yet everyone was hard working.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There was a good range of talks organised by HR to introduce you to each department within the company and give you an idea of the APC program.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Being involved in writing a report meant that the work that I carried out had to be of a professional standard so I was constantly getting feed back and being told where I could improve my work. This was very useful.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • They are a company that are very well renowned in the industry and provide a high standard of training for the APC exams. They are a company that I would be happy to work for.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, everyone on the internship scheme was friendly and like minded and the current staff were easy to get along with.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The offices were in London's West end so the cost of living and transport were fairly high. The salary paid made it possible to socialise however I did not save as much as I initially hoped.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife in London is great.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes there were some sports fixtures organised through work and being in London there were hundreds of other activities that could be done if one wished to get involved.
