  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I learnt a lot from this placement. I developed my excel, time management and professional skills. In addition i had some experience using Hyperion and Oracle which will become very beneficial to the future. Regards to my degree, some aspects will assist me on my degree but if I studied accounting it would be more beneficial

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was relaxed. When we were in a busy period the office was tensed as there was a lot to be done but we still had fun. Everyone is really friendly and approachable, so people leave there desks and go talk to one another when they feel like and there is always good around the office.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • During my placement I worked with 3 departments, reporting, risk and treasury. The risk and treasury department was very organised, they had a plan of what was i going to do, how long i should spend on it and when it needed to be done by. The reporting department was a little different, it was more adhoc work, I did have my weekly tasks but the rest of the days assisted on whatever needed to be done.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company sent me onto two courses, one for excel and one for time management. The colleagues did sit next to me and ran me through the software and explained certain things to me, so in terms of personal training it was good.

    4/5

  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

  • During the internship you have a review and based on that you will be fast tracked onto the assessment centre and interview for the graduate scheme based on your performance.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The social scene with the other interns was amazing. The company does not organise anything for the interns as we all worked in different departments but we organised things ourselves.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I travelled into work so it was not expensive at all, plus since the HQ is in Dunstable living arrangements is not expensive and the social life is not that bad.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There was no Nightlife.

    1/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I went on a company trip to learn more about what goes on outside of the HQ. Also they have a football team and other activities.
