    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed this internship because of the exposure that I got in the role and the interesting work that I was given, from sitting in on client meetings to taking part in company audits.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt that was valued by my colleagues to the extent that I am still in contact with some of the people from the office and we meet up for social events.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • There was lots of support from my manager and everyone in the office as they were all approachable if I had any problems that I needed help with.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It really depended day-to-day as some day there was not a lot of work, whereas on other days I found it quite difficult to even keep up with the work that I had on.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given more responsibility than I expected as I was involved in lots of important client work and it felt like I was making important contributions to the team.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think that the soft skills I learnt from the internship such as working with people in a team to achieve a common goal will help me in my degree later when I return to university.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office was actually really fun because everyone was so friendly and approachable, so much so that I actually enjoyed being at work.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was very well set up as it felt like we had the right balance of training, work and social events. Also, if we had any problems, there were lots of people that we could approach to resolve them like my manager or HR.

  • There was lots of training both at the start and on an on-going basis throughout the internship, so it was clear that the company want to invest in us.

  • I am waiting to find out if I have a graduate job with them.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • All the interns got along well and we went on nights out together.

  • The cost of living for me wasn't too bad because I was living at home during the internship.

  • The nightlife was pretty good as I already mentioned all the interns went on nights out together.
