    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I get the impression that the culture at BAML is better than some of its competitors. Training / speakers / social events were frequent and very well organised. I like the office location and building a lot. Work environment is fun and sociable, you meet lots of interesting people.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues were friendly. I loved being part of a large intake of summer analysts and the social events organised by HR were great. I was writing my MSc dissertation at the time of my internship and received useful advice on this from several colleagues although they didn't have to help me.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My mentor was very helpful and easy to talk to. He always made time for me, was very organised and did in fact help me when I had a query regarding taking annual leave during the internship.

  • I wasn't idle or too busy - perfect.

  • Perfect amount in my view.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I am very happy to have experienced the working environment of a sales and trading floor. I met lots of people that I look up to and made new friends.

  • Exciting. I loved meeting new people.

  • Major investment was made in organising the internship - training, events, speakers. Lots of optional events for networking with the business.

  • I am in a growing department that does not seem to be facing redundancies.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I enjoyed the social events amongst the interns a lot. Lots of free food and drinks. Frequent work barbeques and drinks up on the roof terrace of our building.

  • Not cheap but this is London. Comany social events provided free entry / food / drinks.

  • I did some CSR and took part in a community day during the internship.
