    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Daily activites involved a mix of buinsess as usual tasks that were you usually process that had to be done at set times each day. Outside of this the work revolved around quite a bit of coding work to improve processes and automate manual ones.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Learnt coding in R to an advance level from previous only a basic amount of knowledege. Learnt a lot about how the banking industry works and how important a role the central bank plays in it. Experienced what it was like to work in a workplace enviroment for a long period. And also learnt generic office soft skills

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Personally felt as if you were given a lot of responsibility. After training and learning all the processes it was quite quickly after that I was allowed to the run many process without and supervision and also got the opportunity to lead the teams biggest aggregated output production round.

  • There was lots of support and guidance availble through collegues in the team, line manager and team manager. As well as a mentor and budy scheme that paired you up with different people from around the bank.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The amosphere and culture was great everyone was very supportive. There was a great work life balance with lots of other placement students to do things with outside of work and also grab lunch with every day. Regular team social events to keep team ethos high.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • It was absolutley great. There wasn't too much i could fault I ended up extedning an extra 3 months and also going back for a summer internship between university years the following year.

  • Deffinitley worth applying. Although the application process can be long but they all are, just give it your best and be completely honest. If you don't understand something just say and someone will always be happy to help or explain
