    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
  • It was a day event where we were introduced to the day to day activities at the Bank of England. We also got a chance to talk to employees who applied through the graduate scheme and decided to continue working there. Additionally we also had a panel discussion with the various departments at the Bank that deal with employees services like the mental health team and the diversity and inclusion team. It was great to network with like minded people!

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The main skill I learnt was working on my networking skills. We were involved in a networking session where we had to talk to the graduate employees and the other potential candidates and it was refreshing to talk to people from different perspectives and background. I also learnt that I need to work on my commercial awareness skills as they are extremely crucial if one wants to work in the financial industry. I have been trying to improve it ever since the insight day!

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
  • The insight day was definitely helpful in understanding how everyone at Bank of England works everyday. As a potential candidate I realized it was very beneficial to know the inner workings of the organization and also how I would be expected to work as a employee there. Moreover, it was also good to learn about the banking system about the banking system of the country and the operations that go on behind the monetary decisions
